Hello John,

I am not a big contest participant by any means, but I do like the opportunity to work some DX during the contests. We moved late last fall and I have not had an opportunity to put up my tower and hybrid cubical quad as of yet, so I only running about 250 watts into a Cushcraft MA5V vertical antenna using RG-8X feedline.

The conditions seemed to improve throughout the weekend. 10m seemed to open really well on Sunday afternoon. I was able to work ST2AR and CT1DVV both within a few minutes on 10m. I worked the last of the new PJ's I needed when I worked PJ7DX on 10m. Working the ST on 10m with a marginal station was actually quite a thrill for me. I had previously confirmed ST on 20m, but working it on 10m was just awesome.

I only worked ZX5J on 15m. He was listed on the cluster when I came from working outside as XZ5J. I thought I had great opportunity to work Myanmar, but the accent wasn't right. I figured out he was a Brazilian about the time I made my call and he responded to me.

It was really nice to see the upper bands open up. I remember struggling through the low 60's SFI not too low ago struggling to hear a LU station on 20m, so the 130's were a welcome sight.

Have a good day and hope to see everyone at the meeting on Saturday.
