John,
Worked 77 countries on 20, just messing around. Sunday afternoon the band
was loud and very noisy. S9 noise level here.
Heard someplace in Africa, don't remember what country, but there was about
a 1000 lids screaming at the same time, trying to work the guy, amazing.
Seems like the new countries in the Caribbean were attracting many folks.
You would think that they were North Korea!

I wonder if any other club members participated in the ARRL DX SSB contest
this past weekend? I am writing up the West Gulf Division report for the
ARRL, so would be interested in any observations, stories, comments or the
like about the contest. Did you notice any unusual openings (other than the
fact we actually had sunspots)? Did you make any station changes in the
past year that you think helped in the contest? What did or didn't you like
about the contest this year? Work any rare stations?
