Hi John, Sounds as though you had a good time as well. I started the 
contest with 100w, but just don't have the patience. I noticed the band 
was abnormally quiet as well. I didn't use my beverages the first night 
and really didn't feel a need to. Used them last night, though. It got 
pretty noisy here last night. Used the Flex 5000A, and the bandscope 
painted an amazing picture of 160....full of signals from 1800 all the 
way to 1890 or so. Had the 25hz filter in and just used the mouse to 
scroll slowly up and back down the band. I have had the Flex for about a 
year and a half now and am just now beginning to really appreciate the 
thing.
