Peter
I would suggest 2 different mikes.
They both would use a Radio Shack $4, 270-092 powered mike element.
I use one for my 1950's vintage Heathkit DX-60s for 40-80-160 *AM*.
That mike element is built into a Karaoke style mike(My *AM* mike).
New "EL CHEAPO" Karaoke style mikes can be had for $10 plus shipping.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I use a 2nd mike element for my new ICOM HF rig.
It is built into a SHURE 444 mike for HF SSB.
You could use your D-104. (or leave your D-104 intact).
These modern ICOM rigs do TX audio shaping.
I have not played with it on my new ICOM radio since I've had no
problem breaking the ZL8X pile-ups(with my crank-up tower @ 24')
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Audio reports on both mikes are great. Would I say anything different
???? Hi Hi
Let me know if your interested and I'll go into more detail and help you
with the project.
