Yaesu 950 or 450 if you can't swing a K3 for the top prize.
Yaesu 897 or 857.
A true dual-receive dual band mobile (Yaesu FT-8800) for preference.

Subject: [OKDXA] Green Country Hamfest prizes
Hello,
I am on the board of directors and treasurer of the Green Country Hamfest
and we are in the process of planning next years hamfest and are considering
what type of prize we should have as the first, second and third grand
prizes. So I have come to the experts for your opinion. For the last
several years since Icom has had a display of all of their radios we have
given Icom prizes exclusively. Since Icom was not here last year and we do
not have any commit for this year we are considering other brands. What
would you like to see as door prizes? Two rigs that have been suggested are
Ten-Tec and Elecraaft. Which would you prefer and which model? If you were
not planning on attending, would something this expensive make you attend as
opposed to something like a Yeasu FT-897? So what would you look for in
prizes when considering cost vs. appeal?
So there you have it. I hope you can provide some useful and realistic
suggestion and discussion. Thanks.
