[OKDXA] Just a thought about OKQSOP and LOTW

Charlie,
I agree with you that we should all be using LOTW.
I've been using it for several years and upload frequently.
It seems that Oklahoma is still a "new one" for a lot of people out there.
I'm amazed at that, but with the new Triple Play going on we've become a
"hot property" I guess. I get flooded with requests for QSO's on eQSL, but
always happy to confirm a new state for someone, be it by LOTW, paper QSL,
or eQSL.
On the subject of eQSL, if there are those of you who use eQSL, I would
recommend NOT uploading your logs to that right after the OKQP. I find it
is better to wait for eQSL's to arrive and then you can manually acknowledge
their eQSL and put on the comment line something like I do :W5LE/M
confirming BLAINE CO. OK" or some such, based on what county you were in at
the time you had the QSO. That way, the person has the benefit of not only
having Oklahoma but also of having acknowledgement of a particular county.
I've done it that way for about 5 years now and it seems to make the
recipients happy. Just a suggestion of course.
73 to all, and I'll take this opportunity to say I hope everyone had a very
nice Thanksgiving and that Santa will bring all of you a K3 and an Alpha amp
for Christmas(too bad my wife doesn't read the reflector!). May it be a
joyous and blessed time for all.
Gene
