Dina and I are still too much in shock to accept this. Gary was one of 
my oldest and dearest friends, in or out of ham radio. We first met 
shortly after he moved to Bartlesville in th late 70s. Even after my 
move to Texas 8 years ago and his retirement, we had maintained almost 
daily contact. His bottomless enthusiasm and his big signal will be 
greatly missed across the entire amateur radio community.This was very 
sudden and unexpected, but Gary had been very concerned about heart 
disease all his life, as it ran in his family. I think everyone had come 
to believe it had skipped him. He lived much longer than his dad and 
brother, but that brings little solace to those of us who survive him.
