Hi everyone,
I need to run some coax through plastic pipe a distance of about 350 feet. Unfortunately, 250 feet of that is pretty rough, going through a heavily wooded area with trees, briars, various plants about 6 feet tall, etc. The coax is flooded, direct-bury cable (but I don't want to direct bury it).
Option 1 is to bring in a dozer and clear a path for a trencher, then trench a slot and bury the plastic pipe.
Option 2 is to bury the pipe for the first 30 feet and the last 30 feet where it is simply going through grass, and let it lay above ground the rest of the way through the woods (the reason for the plastic pipe is to keep the varmints from eating the coax).
My main concern about Option 1 is cost. My main concern about Option 2 is condensation. Has anybody tried running plastic pipe with coax in it above ground?
Are there other problems you see?
