Hi, Coy:
Congratulations, and welcome to the club! Amazin', ain't it! No wonder the
gang on Ducie could hear my signal on 160 when I was driving a CC R8.
I love mine, and the sub-receiver will go in as soon as I finish a few
work-related projects.
BTW, my wait was a little more than six months (November to May).
Now, it's time to put up the towers and Yagis.
Enjoy! :-)

Hi All,
I received my K3 kit Friday and put most of it together and checked it out
on Saturday. Yesterday, I added the 100w amp and did the final
calibration and operational checks. I am very impressed with the quality
of the materials and manuals. It really went together smoothly just like
Ed, W5TM, said it would. :-)
It will take a while in the manual before I get all the bells and whistles
figured out, if ever. So far I'm impressed. I've been able to pull
signals out of the noise that I wouldn't have heard with the FT-1000MP.
I made my first contact with it a few minutes ago. I called Dave, NE5S,
and asked him to meet me on 10 meters. We had a nice chat while, I did
some adjusting on the controls and I realized that it will take a while
before I get the hang of getting the audio set up right.
I'm glad I didn't have to wait the 3 and half months that was originally
forecast. It was actually under 3 months. I should have spent that time
reading the manual. ;-)
