Subject: [OKDXA] 9X-Finally!
After a week or so of nail biting, pulling out my
hair, putting off other activities, etc, I finally
managed to work 9X0R on 20 CW tonight at 5:45pm local!
Wow, has this one been frustrating! Glad I didn't
need it for an all time new one.
They finally showed up on 20 CW around 4:45 or so with
a good operator, but not much of a signal. After a
little while they took a break to obviously switch
ops. They returned with a better signal but the op
wasn't near as good. He was averaging 1 QSO a minute
or so and was kind of inconsistent in his operating.
He couldn't get full calls the first time very often,
either. The only upside was the pileup seemed to get
smaller, probably because many of the callers got
frustrated and left.
Anyway, I got 9X on CW now, and life is good. Hope
FR/G isn't as frustrating, but I expect the pileups
for that one to be huge!
73s John AA5JG
