Well, now that 160 m season is just about over, I got my
remotely-tuned L-network for my shunt-fed tower working pretty well.
At the top of 160 m, I can get the SWR down to about 2:1 (depending
on whihc meter I look at) and at 1900 kHz I can get it down to about
1.5:1 (again, depending on which meter I look at), but at the bottom,
I can get it flat. ANd it's good for as much smoke as I can make with
my single 3-500Z
I don't have any radials out, yet, and what I do put out won't be
very long. But, as soon as I can find a good, cheap source of wire,
I'll have at it. Aluminum is cheap, but not long-lasting. Copper is
too danged expensive right now...
