They hadn't come up on 80 or 160 @ 9 last night so I went to bed in able to  
get up early this am. Got up @ 3:30 and they were active on 80 with a paltry 
sig  at best. The opr could not hear and could not send. Fist as bad as mine. 
Very  slow (13 WPM) So I went back to bed and got up @ 7:45. Sun brightly 
shining but  I turned on the radio for the fun of it. He was still on and working 
JA's and  W's. He was an S3 at best. I hrd him wrk a 9 and started calling him 
on that  freq and I'll be switched I wrked him. He called me twice with the 
rpt, as I  don't think they hear well on 80 & 160. He was so weak by then I 
needed 2  exchanges to confirm my call.
 
What a  B I G  difference from Ducie........................But  at least I'm 
in the log which now just leaves me 6 days to get them on 160.  I must say I 
really love online logs............I won't bother to retry for an  ins Q until 
see it's missing from the online log....................No online  logs is a 
different matter.................
 
Good luck to all................80 & 160 will be challenging for those  of us 
bereft of the K5KA callsign.............
