Well, I got it to work. I used a clip lead that, while too big, 
worked well enough. I now have a match on 160.

In dong this, I discovered another problem, however: three of the 
four bolts that hold the rotator to the base plate were gone and the 
fourth was about to go. Things had, apparently, been loose for 
awhile, because the holes are wallowed out. I have replaced three of 
the four and will have to wait for a less windy day to complete the 
repairs. In addition, at least one of the rotator control wires has 
been broken as things moved around up there, so I'll need to wait for 
a calm day, remove the rotator, fix the broken wires, replace it, and 
then bolt everything together again and, this time, use Lock Tite.

Two steps forward, one back...
