It made me ponder how I would explain to a non-ham the reason for spending  
an exorbitant amount of money to go to some of the most dangerous locations in  
the world, ie Spratly, Peter 1, or Scarborough, just to talk to other hams  
on a radio............
 
Those who do certainly deserve the accolades they  
receive........................
