Well, it looks like we might get the chance to work another new one. The
USFWS has sent letters out to everyone that has filed for permission to go
to Desecheo Island, KP5. They sent out letters June 30th and told them that
they had 45 days to respond. Then they will pick one of the applicants to
be able to go to KP5 under strict USWFS supervision for 14 days. They will
only be given 30 days notice before going. So out of all the ones that have
applied to go, only one group will be able to go and only on a very short
notice. I will certainly have to dig Big Bertha out of the closet for this
one! I wish I had my new vertical up because that would allow me more
bands. I will do whatever it takes to work this one, even take a day of
vacation to work them! That should give us something to work towards,
anyway. It will be very workable from my QTH. It is only 1629 miles from
my QTH outside of Ellisville, MS. They think it will be sometime from
September to December 2008 for the DXpedition. So warm up those tubes boys!
73,
Alan, N5PA
