Subject: [OKDXA] CW Skimmer

Based on yesterday's postings about the contesting advisory committee's
decisions, I have a couple of questions about CW skimmer. I have seen it
talked about alot, but never really checked into it-nor will I.

I am guessing that you set it up to tuner over a band segment, say from
14.000 to 14.075, and it will tune the rig up and down looking for signals,
correct?

Now, given that CW takes a little while to copy a whole callsign, doesn't
this take a long time? I could see it taking a couple of minutes at
least-that doesn't seem very efficient to do in a contest unless you are
doing SO2R and using skimmer on the multiplier radio to spot new stations.

Am I all correct in my thinking?
