Peter has raised some interesting questions that I hv pondered for some  
time............
 
I'm still waiting for my 3C7Y card for almost 2 yrs now. The QSL mgr EA5BYP  
won't even return my emails.
 
I've tried using IRC's with limited success. I've often wondered if it was  
because they were never stamped at the local PO at the tine of purchase. But I  
assumed they knew how to issue them and knew more than me.
 
One point I would like to raise was my problem getting a card from V85SS. I  
sent him 2 cards and waited for 2 years....This guy had an email adr so I kept 
 asking if he got my cards. He would always say no. So I sent him a 3rd card 
with  2 GS and sent it registed mail with signature required...Amazing........ 
got my  card in 2 mos.
 
I've sent all my logs to LOTW but until the Brit that  ran that really great 
operation from JX there's nothing been posted on  LOTW that I need for a new 
country. I've found LOTW to be a nightmare to use and  not worth the trouble. 
The only reason I post my logs, sometimes after three  days of attempting, if 
for the benefit for other stations.
 
I understand that it will cost me $12 to hv my JX Q confirmed on LOTW, I  
also hv another 10 cards here that need to be submitted as well. My impression  
is that the card submission will cost another $12. If my impressions are 
correct  it will cost me $24 to submit 11 Q's. At this point I'm unwilling to be 
mugged.  I at least want to see a gun.
 
So I guess my best route will be to forgo LOTW, sent the Brit 2 or 3 usd  and 
submit it with the other 10 cards. That way it will only cost me $12.
 
One other point I would like to mention is that I take umbrage with these  
blokes who take off for dx entities then require you to make a financial  
contribution after the fact to get a card. By my way of thinking the financial  
issues should be resolved before the licenses are even applied for.
 
Well hope everyone has their A/C's in top condx.......at least for the next  
6 wks......
