For yrs and yrs I thought I had bagged and confirmed Christmas Island, Then  
a couple yrs ago when the League would send you a complete list of all the  
countries and the bands worked for the countries that had confirmed for you I  
noticed that VK9/X was never credited. 
 
So, while it took mos, I dug through my shoe boxes of cards and finally  
found my Christmas Island card from the 70's. I continually kept submitting the  
card and hving it rejected.
 
I finally was informed that there actually were 2 Christmas Islands. The  one 
I wrked in the 70's is credited now as T30, Western Kiribati.
 
I hv been waiting now for 2 or 3 yrs for someone to activate VK9/X as it is  
fairly accessible and inhabited. For anyone who need for new or just band 
fills  I offer the following......................
 
VK9X, CHRISTMAS ISLAND (Oceania Adventure DXpedition). Four  operators
will be active from Christmas Island (OC-002) during July for 10  days.
Activity will be on 160-10 meters and possibly 6 meters. They plan  to
have three station active (one with high power, 2 barefoot).  Operators,
with modes of operation and their callsigns are as  follows:
Manuel/CT1BWW (CW/SSB/RTTY/PSK31/SSTV) -  VK9XWW
Juan/EA3GHZ    (CW/SSB)                  - VK9XHZ
Juan/EA45EOR   (SSB/RTTY/PSK31/SSTV)    - VK9XOR
Claudina/EC5BME  (YL - SSB only)        - VK9XME
   FORWARD TO BERNIE AND I BET HE SAYS "BITE ME"
  Pilot stations are: Africa - ZS1AU, Asia -JA8BMK, Europe -  EA4TD,
Ocenia - ZL2AL and VK2CZ, and North America - K4SV. QSL via  EA4URE,
