So I’m about ready to sell my FT1000D and FT-920 (keeping my FT1000MP) to
make room (and raise cash) for an Elecraft K3!

So what do you think? Am I too late to get a decent price???

I have never known a buyout to be positive. Every Ham equipment manufacturer
you ever remember, once bought out are now GONE. GONE forever.... Drake,
Johnson, Collins, Hammarlund, Kenwood, Heathkit, ....shall I go on. I
predict that Yaesu will drop the Ham line of equipment as soon as
inventories are gone. There will be no repair service and no spare parts
available in the future either.
 
Hope I am 1,000% wrong. I own too much Yaesu equipment.

ARLX007 Motorola buys Yaesu
Motorola USA has announced its intention to launch a tender offer to
acquire a controlling interest in Vertex Standard Co, Ltd. Vertex
Standard is the parent company of Yaesu. Motorola will own 80
percent of Vertex Standard; Tokogiken, a privately held Japanese
company, controlled by current president and CEO of Vertex Standard
Jun Hasegawa, will retain 20 percent, forming a joint venture. The
total purchase price for 80 percent of the outstanding shares on a
fully diluted basis will be approximately US $108 million.
