Fellows,
Jim K5TT netted it out. Great comraderie, food, and presentations. Jerry
and Mark sure do a bangup job on arrangements. I see Stroud as an ideal
compromise twixt OKC & Tulsa. Not so great for the West, Southwest, &
Southeast guys and gals but we're SO spread out. Thanks to Tim K3LR
for a superb presentation and show. Wouldn't you like to be a "fly on
the wall" in THAT shack whilst the CQWW DX test is underway? Many
thanks to the drawing contributors. Correct me if I err but I think
we had 44 attendees.
As predicted, Gil W5NUT was last man standing in the countdown at 382
confirmed. I won't live long enough to get such a count. (got a late
start in amateur radio) Got the chance to do the DX country countdown.
How could I possibly refuse? Already looking forward to next years'
banquet. We have at least 5 guys in the club that have "worked all of
em" . Gonna bore you with a video Laura put together with Photoshop
and Power Point of K5RH swapping out an antenna rotor/motor/gearbox at
75' +/-. Tower climbing hints also. The reflector has shown a lot of
you are snagging a bunch of new band/countries. Gee the antennas here
sure need some attention. No end to the chores. 'Twas great seeing you
guys and gals again. Missed some key players. We need to find Gil a
new one. I have a dozen or so good fotos of you folks. Maybe W5LE
can find some space on our website for a few of 'em. Need to trim a
bit on most of them tho. I'm slow but we'll get there.
73 to all of you.
Ross K5RH & Laura KB5NRH
Wow, what a Banquet. A big crowd, a great program,
good food, and numerous door prizes. Thanks to all
those who helped especially to K5YAA and K3LR.
Jim
