We all missed Zone 23 on 20 meters. Several JT stations were spotted and
were on the air but propagation was not favorable at the time the JTs were
spotted.
As an interesting side note, both K3LR and KC1XX worked 169 countries on 20
meters. That is a ton of DXCC countries in 48 hours. 161 of those countries
worked by LR and XX were the same. XX and LR each worked 8 countries that
the other did not:
Countries worked by KC1XX and not worked by K3LR = 44
160- GW, LA
80- 5H, A4, EK, EL, J2, TF, UA9, V5, YL
40- EL, SM, YL
20- 4U1VIC, 5R, 8R, 9N, 9Q, A9, GM/S, TU
15- 5R, 8R, A4, C3, CE9, ES, EU, OH0, TK, TR, YL
10- 3V, 5B, CN, EA, EI, GW, IS, IT9, LX, LZ, TA
Countries worked by K3LR and not worked by KC1XX= 56
160- 1A, 3V, CM, E7, EA, HA, HK, OM, PY, T7, VK, ZS
80- CX, KH2, KL, ZP
40- 3B8, 5H, A4, A7, DU, E5/s, EA6, EK, EU, GD, KH0, KH2, TA, UA2, UA9, VP8,
VQ9, YB
20- 4S, 9M2, A6, E5/s, EL, KG4, TT, VP2V
15- J7, JA, JW, KH0, KH2, UA9, VP2V
10- 3DA, 9K, 9Y, CM, J7, OA, VP8
It is amazing to see the differences! I investigate every hour of the
contest on every band of all 3 top multi multi USA stations to determine
what station changes should be made to K3LR in the future.
This is just like NASCAR!

Tim, what zone were you missing on 20? It would be interesting to know
if all 3 of you were missing the same one.

It has been a quick almost 2 weeks since the OKDXA Banquet. I want to
thank
Jerry, K5YAA and the rest of the OKDXA for the friendship, support and
fellowship since moving here 8 years ago. Receiving the Oklahoma DXer of
the
Year award just blew me away. The award is prominently mounted in my
radio
room in Pennsylvania.
I especially want to thank Ed, W5TM who has opened his station for me to
use
many times. And to Ken, K5KA who has been a close friend and guiding
light
through thick and thin. Also my home club the Edmond Amateur Radio
Society
(EARS) with Wendy, W1DY and Andrew, W8OU.
As many of you know, I left Oklahoma that next Sunday early morning
heading
for the K3LR station to do battle with the mega stations in the Multi
Multi
class of CQ WorldWide (phone mode) which is the largest contest on the
planet (over 30,000 Amateur operators make contacts).
It was a very intense 5 days of solid work and preparation to host 14
operators for the 48 hour event at K3LR.
I am extremely happy to report that we achieved our goal. We are the #1
claimed score in the USA for the 3rd year in a row! You can see that the
new
20 meter antenna system REALLY works with 3321 QSOs and 169 countries in
48
hours!
Here are the scores from the top 3 USA stations. It shows QSOs, zones
and
multipliers worked on the 6 HF contest bands. At the bottom is the total
points in millions.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you soon!
