Thank goodness I don't need Midway but I DO need  Wake.......................
 
The last info I heard on Wake was that after being hit by a typhoon the Air  
Force was debating whether or not to even rebuild. But I guess that would not  
preclude a DX effort even if there were no amenities. Just a question as to  
whether the AF would give landing permission.
 
The F & W Svc has become rather omnipotent in regards to letting anyone  on 
the islands within their domain. But it seems a remember a few mos back some  
congressional hearing where the F&W were forced to testify as to their  reasons 
for restrictions toward Desecheo and Navassa. Don't what or if the  final 
outcome of those hearing were.......................
