Fellows,

We are fortunate to belong to one of the Premier DX Associations in the
world. Participation among the members is what makes it great. Wish I
had half of K5YAA's energy level. What a guy ! Ditto W5EL. How about
those webpages? Our thanks to so many. How about those card sorters
and all the folks that tuned up the mobile rigs for the OK QSO Party /
Centennial ? Thanks to your dues, we have been able to give serious aid
to many worthy DX efforts.

If we had an office in the club of "Ramrod", N5OK surely qualifies. Coy
has that kind of ability, dedication, and energy. Re-elect N5OK and
K5RAV. Bless Judy for putting up with us.

Green Country was a blast. Sorry about the picture quality. Unbeknownst
to me, the nightshade latch was on. Had I known I'd be nominated and
accept the office, you would have better info. Checked a few cards for
W5EL and K8FU. You guys get your confirmations yet?

Elections:

Jerry K5YAA Prez, Gene W5EL VP, Mark K5YAB VP Activities, & Ross
K5RH Secy/Treas. Doesn't K5YAC deserve an office also? jus' kiddin'
Carol. Thanks for puttin' up with our obsession. KB5NRH shares your grief.
Thanks to Bruce N5PX for his most able services as prez. Enjoy your
retirement and find time to work some Rare DX pal. (Rare DX being
defined as any Unconfirmed entity.)

HamCom 2007 was superb as usual. Bill Moore NC1L checked my last 3
cards for #1 Honor Roll. Had a nice chat with Bill, N5OK, K5RAV, K5OVC,
K5LAD, K5YAA, K5KC, NE5S, W5SJ, K5ZA, W5JAY, W0GJ who gave me
cw Andaman, was the DX Banquet speaker, gave a slide show and great
description of his visit and operation on VU7, VU2RBI & her gorgeous
daughter. (About 14 or 15 and licensed) I could go on and on. Missed Alan,
Bert & Carmen and others. The DX & ARRL forums were great. Even got a
refresher course on Smith charts at the "transmission line" forum. Guys.
the
forums and activities at HamCom thanks to the efforts of DX club members
and honored guests, are superb. Had 200+ DX banquet attendees. Rumor
has it that Ms N5OK and Ms K5YAA went shopping. Laura was held hostage
at the spa by her daughter-in-law. Missed my trip to Fry's.

Our own Gil W5NUT was last man standing at 382 entities confirmed.
I heard somewhere that "Beat Texas" was our OK state slogan. Works for
me. We lost Morris W5IO a few years ago. He was hands down winner with
his count at the past HamCom DX banquets. Be patient Gil. We'll find
another one for you ASAP. Calls and counts for past banquets would be
interesting reading. Deal with Ben W2BXA (390) at Dayton now. Wonder
if K6ZO (393) ever goes to Dayton. Need to have a look at the records.

Field Day June 23-24

Hope I saw you at HamCom.

73, Ross K5RH
