I don't think it's the same kind of site - Richie was just pointing out that
these kinds of deals do exist.  AT&T had a number of "long-line" sites and
various interests groups are buying them for "scrap" and then putting them
to other good uses.

The TARC site is NOT 15 miles from "1/2 way between Stillwater and Ponca
City" - it's in Mounds - northern Okmulgee County - about 20 miles due south
of Tulsa.  We (the TARC) were not offered another site out near Ponca or
Stillwater - although some other club may have been....

Hi Richie and everyone,

Thanks for writing to alert us to TARC's plans.  I was told that the tower
we are talking about has definitely not been offered to another group.  The
contact said it is possible his partner has offered another very similar
site 15 miles away to the TARC group.  He further said they would not
promise a given site to multiple groups unless they have worked out a plan
for using it together.

I believe OKDXA has the go-ahead on the site if somebody wishes to step
forward as the "leader."  There were some very nice equipment and antenna
ideas put forward by our group.  Also, I think Gary was offering to climb!
Perhaps a very limited start would be a good idea.  Success could then breed
more success.

Any 1, 2, or 3 persons interested in taking this another step?
