[OKDXA] FREE Tower space, shack, electricity to hams

It seems that we have no adventurous individual that would like to take
advantage of this. I've been pondering it with the following
observations.

1. At one time a group of us went to Palau and won a plaque in the CQWW
as KC6MM. There was no place to hang the plaque because the OKDXA didn't
have a club station or a meeting place. We hung it in the Oklahoma Comm
Center which is no more. I don't know where it is today.
2. I know of some contesting clubs that have taken these sites and built
club stations in them. They pool their resources and put together pretty
good stations.
3. It seems like it would be too much for an individual to take on
building a competitive station at this remote site but a club might be
able to put together enough equipment, funds, etc. and over time build a
pretty good station.
4. This offer is for FREE space, electricity, etc. I like free if it
doesn't cost me too much. If we were to tackle this as the OKDXA, nothing
says that we have to have a full blown contest station in operation
tomorrow.
5. Some dealers offer equipment to clubs at a discount for their stations.
6. If the stations could and would be used to support emergency
communications, there is a possibility of grant money.
7. The main problem that I would see with the OKDXA taking on such a
project would be to find a person that would be willing and had the time
to be the station trustee to coordinate activities at the site.

Just some thoughts. I sure hate to see such a nice site slip through our
fingers.
