A midwest view of VU7 and 7Q?
I put out a couple of containers of bird seed ( DX ) on my deck a couple
of
days ago.
Soon, along came a pile of animals.
Cardinals, little Finches of some sort, Blue Jays and a squirrel or two.
The crowd got larger after the first few seeds were consumed.
Soon, lot's of black birds. Then more squirrels. A real ruckus ensued.
Not enough bandwidth - squirrels seemed to be in charge - they were
hogging
the containers containing the DX. Once in a while one would just sit,
others mades sounds like 'UP" "UP" or maybe "SPLIT" "SPLIT". Thought I
heard "LID" "LID" a time or two. Couldn't see the DX anymore just the
containers and the crowd around the containers.
After several minutes - nothing remained but hulls!
The crowd started to clear - all but a few midwest hambirds (odd
feathered
guys). They had been getting stomped on by the other animals. Never
saw
those midwest hambirds clearly until the crowd cleared. Once in a while
I
thought I saw a midwest hambird grab a seed.
Fairly easy to recognize those midwestern hambirds - they're the skinny
persistent ones!
