[OKDXA] Impending Ice Storm

Hi Coy,
Yes, it said 2"-3" for the Jan storm and 3" for the Dec storm. Wind
is a terror for anythinh when ice comes down: the ice is deposited on
wires and tubing with a crude airfoil shape and when that happens,
the thing get really jiggy in the wind. I recall seeing large
transmission lines galloping during an ice storm in the 70's -- to
the extent that they arced between phases. Il ived in the dorms on
campus at the time and watched from the 11th floor of Walker Tower.
Luckily, OU generates its own power so, while much of Norman went
dark, the lights stayed on everywhere on campus.
Ice storms have few, if any, redeeming qualities.
