Jon:

Of course the higher the Solar Flux Index the better. We are at the bottom
of the Solar Cycle so the numbers are now usually down in the lower 70's. I
use the K-Index as a guide to geomagnetic noise. If this number is 3 or
lower the noise is good. If it gets real high this is an indication that
there could be aurora and also the possibility of Six Meters opening. This
is a quick and simple guide that I use.

Alan, N5PA

I just went to the pbdxa.org page, good looking page. There is a neat
tool on there called "hamquick propcast".
Do any of you have a quick 'cheat sheet' on what the propagation
numbers mean? For example, if the numbers are ' Flux: xx | A: xx | K:
x' then prop is good on the lower bands.. if the numbers are 'Flux:
yy | A: yy | K: y' then prop is good on the upper bands... then the
same for noisy vs quiet bands.
Sorry for the basic question, but I use to have a bar graph that
explained this... but I lost it

Thanks
Jon
