Guys:
I was doubtful that I had made it into the logs for 1A4A last night on 40
meters but when I did a search I had one of my two contacts. It does not
have the mode so I do not know if it is the phone or CW contact. I will try
to work them again on phone and CW just to make sure I have them both. I
have them confirmed on 15 meter phone and I could use some band fills. I
could barely hear them on 75 and 80 meters last night and it was not worth
trying to beat out the east coast wall to work them. I could not have heard
them come back to me clearly on those bands. Forty meters was bad enough
with all of the frequency police. It made it very difficult to work them
because everyone was covering them up when they came back to you.
I noticed several guys around Mississippi and Oklahoma have worked them.
Guys like N5OK, K8FU, K5VV, N5UE, K2FF, K5YG, KE5K, W5XX, and others.
Congratulations on the contacts. Last night was my first chance to try and
work them so I will have limited time to work them. The VU7RG boys are
coming up later this month and there is a group going to Spratly Island
February 1-14. There is lots of great DX coming up. Good Hunting!

Alan, N5PA
