[OKDXA] I HATE VISTA

I've found that a LOT of programs that work fine on 9X or Win2K won't work
on Vista.
Microsoft software runs fine. I wouldn't mess with it but the wife has to
teach it this
Fall semester. It's been a PITA all the way. XP device drivers rarely
work. Vista
has this thing called UserAccessControl which is yet another PITA I built
her
another system with all the goodies, installed Vista. (Install went fine)
and found
all the utilities and drivers on the CD for the mobo don't work on Vista.
Personally,
I would recommend you swap the hard drive for a new one, save it for a
year or
two until Microsquash gets its' act together for drivers & utilities that
work, stick the
hard drive from your old system on the new one. The problem there is
unless you
UNINSTALL the video driver, you run the risk of blowing up your video card
unless
the old and the new mobos have the same video card (or chipset)
It's a PITA no matter how you approach it. Good luck.

[OKDXA] I HATE VISTA
My old desktop's mother board went south after several other repairs had
previously been made. So with it's replacement came a new
OS.............Vista.
Which I absolutely hate, but had no choice. Could not find anything on the
market with XP.
I've dwnlded the W6EL prop forecast program and DX Telnet but cannot get
them installed. On Telnet I keep getting msgs which advise the files are
corrupted and to redownload....................
Is anyone familiar with Vista and can tell me how to install these pgms
