Note that the external power supply is not included, but this is an 
excellent opportunity to return to the good old days of point-to-point 
wiring, grid shorts, VFO drift, TVI and visits to the International Tune 
Up Frequencies. Before you decide a home brew power supply is out of the 
question 'cuz transformers are so hard to find, consider that Tektronix 
5xx series scopes are cheap, abundant, and overbuilt. Each one of them 
has a very high quality transformer with multiple secondaries that can 
be wired in series / parallel for a variety of voltages. They also 
include, at no extra charge, a number of vintage electrolytics that tend 
to age well.
