Having spent a career in the Navy, I can assure you they are miserable.  If
you've never been seasick, there is nothing quite like it.  It just goes on
and on.  I was stationed with a young officer once that would get seasick
just from the idea.  He'd be painting the side of the ship pretty colors
before we even got underway.
