This guy was quite the character in other areas as well.  I recall that 
right after the great flood of 1986 up here Preston did an interview for 
the local newspaper and told the city leaders "I told you so".  
Apparently he had been stating for many years that the Caney river 
needed to be dredged or there would be a catastrophic flood.  He was 
also not shy about expressing other opinions about our esteemed city 
leaders :-)

Gary probably has more stories.  And, yes, Preston was well healed 
financially.
