For those of us who missed Ham Com and the DX dinner we missed, as I am t
old, a rather significant event.

The guest speaker was Ralph Fedor K0IR a co-leader of the Peter 1 expedition.

In recounting their activities Ralph made a special point to comment on the
operating practices of amateurs they contacted.

Ralph related how many DX'ers repeatedly contacted them many on the same
freq's.

He related as to how one amateur contacted them 25 times on 20 phone. (Note:
he was not a CW op)

Ralph then stated that the amateur was present at the dinner and asked him
to come forward and accept a special award.

He then asked Earl Smith, President of the ADXA to come forward and accept a
stuffed pig, which signified his winning the pig award.

Since I was not in attendance I have no knowledge if his or of those
attending reactions. Maybe Coy could shed some more light on this story as he was in
attendance for this momentous moment.

I am pleased that individuals are being spotlighted and identified where
such cases of such grievous practices occur.

Well enough of the musings of a Crusty Curmudgeon. I'm grateful the award
was not to any member of OKDXA and hopefully it will make us aware and
introspective of our operating practices.

If you've not heard it before I hope you enjoyed the story.
