Ran across another piece of info.  Suffice it to say that D68C set the bar MIGHTY high, based on what I'm seeing here:

With regard to the Peter 1 fellows, they were issued the XR9A callsign by the Chilean government to use while Maritime Mobile en route to Peter 1.  It does not count as Peter 1 and, come to think of it, don't suppose it would even count as Chile, since they are at sea.  Although, they did operate briefly as XR9A/8 while land-based in Chile.  A QSO with them under that circumstance would, of course, count as Chile.  See you in the pileups.
