Long overdue topics:

NO OKDXA meeting at HH according to OKDXA Prez Bruce K5PX. Officer
elections will be held at Green Country fest. (no surprise after the
last shoutfest / flyfest) Bruce had another long standing commitment
for the date and couldn't be present. tnx agn Jerry. (Stroud OK at the
Ranch House (Best Western) facilities Saturday October 21 and shame
on ya if ya didn't make it. W5TM brought his gorgeous granddaughters.
Had a lot of gifts for the drawing. tnx to N5OK, W5LE (His beloved Kure
Koffee Kup, & others.) The OKDXA "Ham Of The Year" went to a very
deserving Gene W5LE for our webpages. Found hardcopy of our first
newsletter. (1993) Webpage fodder Gene? Thank Coy for persuading
W5NBI & I into commiting to the effort. Coy was most instrumental in
establishing the VHF/UHF PacketCluster network in Oklahoma. The
internet has killed the need for such now. Hope we don't need it again.
Great seein' all of ya at the OKDXA DXCC Banquet. Details on our OKDXA
website shortly if. Did anyone take pictures? My blunder since the Sony
was at home. I promise to snap a few at the next banquet. tnx much to
K5YAA & W5EL for the webpages. Inform your pals that don't do email.
Remember we sponsor the Oklahoma QSO party, the WAO (Worked All Oklahoma
counties.(Coy & I checked the first qualifier at HamCom), Ham Of The
Year, etc. awards, plaques, The W5 QSL Bureau, AND sponsor DXpeds to the
most wanted entities. i.e. Andaman, Peter Island, etc. Lots of ops need
VU7. We agreed to send the January group a donation. Send Jerry your
reup dues if you didn't pay 'em at the banquet....$20, $10 for you ol'
timers. At $10 a head, the Banquet's a bargain, midway between Tulsa &
OKC. Any of you central OK guys still alive ?? Lawton/Fort Sill folks?
it's 4 lane all the way. Ditto most of ya'll. We'll most likely use the
same facility for our next banquet. No surprise that Gil W5NUT was
"Last man standing" at the countdown at a mere 380. Thanks to Jerry
K5YAA and Carol K5YAB for taking care of business. Missed seeing Mark.
We'll elect officers at Green Country. Get your resume in order.

The effort Bert & Carmen did for Alan is most exemplorary of ham spirit.

More coming. 73 & Merry Christmas, Ross K5RH
