Bernie, W3UR, has access to one of the finest antenna systems in the world.
He lives next door to W3LPL's multi-multi station.

Jim:
I know up there in RF Free Oklahoma things have been tough on you guys.
Everyone here is as shocked as you are that Curt worked them. Curt is
retired from IBM and they operate a camp ground and live in their motor
home. He has a 1000MP and a vertical. There have been close to a dozen
folks around Mississippi that have worked them. Most everyone else that is
working them is running full legal power and 70 plus foot towers with big
antennas. It really shocked me when I got the e-mail and I had to confirm
it on their online logs. I know it is like pouring salt in the wounds of
you guys up there, but location has a lot to do with it. I talked to W3UR
yesterday and he has them on every band and mode from 80 through 15 meters.
This is a cake walk for the guys on the east coast. Why do they do the rare
ones when it is the bottom of the cycle? Good Hunting and Merry Christmas
to you guys!
73,
Alan, N5PA
