Guys:
VU7LD is being spotted from Alabama and Tennessee both Long Path and Short
Path on 14003. The Solar Flux Index is 90, the A-Index is 14, and the
K-Index is 2 so conditions from last week's flares are subsiding. They say
that the flare that caused all the problems is diminishing and the noise
factor should get better even though the Solar Flux Index has dropped, also.
But you guys here in the south should start listening a bit earlier this
morning as the reports are coming in.
I listened to them on 20 meters Saturday morning before I left town and they
were weak on RTTY. They never got strong enough to copy on RTTY here. I
think I saw a spot last night where George Hancock, N5GH worked them on 40
meters from Florence, MS. If so, way to go George! My 40 meter setup is
probably one of my weakest now and I do not think I will have much of a
chance working them on that band.
You guys keep after them and Good Hunting!
73,
Alan, N5PA
