Guys:

As predicted, 6-meters was open again last night. From here in southeast
Mississippi we were open from the Carolinas up to Pennsylvania. I started
about 8:30 and worked until 9:00 when it played out. We got home from
eating Mexican about 8:30 and I saw a lot of spots and got on the air. I
did not work anything new but I managed 11 QSO's in 30 minutes. Most of the
guys wanted to ragchew and not just exchange calls and grids. I had about a
15 or 20 minute QSO with a guy from Diamondhead, MS on the coast. We talked
from about nine until about twenty after. I talked to a couple of guys that
stated that this was their first 6-meter contact and one guy had just
upgraded to General last week. I worked seven grids and five states. None
of them counted for a new grid or state but I had a blast working them. I
probably missed out on a good deal of the opening by going out to eat. I
also watch some of the OU and Villanova basketball game and it was not
pretty for the Sooners.

VU7LD is on 15 meter phone and 20 meter RTTY this morning. Hopefully they
will be on some other bands and modes this weekend when all of us working
types are home. I would love to pick them up on RTTY to have that mode
covered and possibly another band or two. I talked to K5VRX up in Virginia
on six last night and he has them worked on 15, 20, 40, and 80 meters on
phone and CW. He is from the Tulsa area and is planning on moving back
after he retires. Like I said before, "Location, Location, Location!" I
will take what I can get, though! Good Hunting!

73,
Alan, N5PA
