[OKDXA] Keep Listening

Bill:

I just had a friend from Hattiesburg say the same thing. He said he was not
hearing anything but the frequency police on his vertical. I have a ten
element Force 12 XR5 at 82 feet, but it is still mangled from Hurricane
Katrina. I have straightened it out as much as possible but each end of the
boom is about a foot lower than where it meets the mast. Electrically it
still loads up and evidently it still works pretty good. Hang in there
Bill, the group next month may present a better chance for you. I worked
over 200 countries with low power and a vertical, so it can be done. But
Zone 22 is the hardest place on the globe to work from my QTH. I think we
are having better propagation here in Southeast Mississippi than you guys
are, anyway. The noise level is at S7 this morning and they were just above
the noise. They were not moving the S-Meter any more but I could copy them
well. Good Hunting!

Does working the DX police count for a valid QSO with the DX entity? :-o

BTW, a vertical in a valley does not do much on long-haul DX.

Guys:

I forgot to tell you, I worked VU7LD at 1444Z on 14002 CW via short path. I
am still hearing them very well here in southeast Mississippi.
