[OKDXA] QSL Deadbeats and an interesting QSL item

Hi Froggy, Jerry, Coy and all,

I just had to check on V51AS. For my 11 Q's with him in 2002 and earlier, I
have 10 QSLs. For my 7 Q's in 2004 and later, I have 0 QSLs. Something is
going on.

I don't have JO or SS, so cannot comment.

Froggy, I completely agree with your comment about not being sure your money
was received. I cut these guys a lot of slack, especially in third world
countries. But these birds in England, Japan, and Greece surely got my QSLs
and money and I've decided to make the Crusty Curmudgeon look like a pussy
cat by comparison.

Jerry, unfortunately, each new one is setting me back $2. I figure that is
cheap compared to the near fortune it took to get the XF4 card. To pay for
this, Lynn is having to go hungry. I figure it is a small price for her to
pay.

Last thing - Lynn (W5LC) recently got her QSLs back from ARRL and an EP
(Iran) card was disallowed due to "invalid QSL manager." Her card was
virtually identical to mine that had received credit earlier. I called Bill
Moore at ARRL (actually prepared to disallow my own QSO) and through his
questioning about the card, he was able to determine that it was from the
RIGHT guy and she will get credit. He said they have had a run of QSLs from
a rogue money snatcher who claimed to be the QSL manager for the EP and
would actually send a QSL to those who sent the right amount of money.
Fortunately, Lynn's card came from the right place. All's well that ends
well.
