OKDXAers:

On the web site http://www.okdxa.org has been placed a set of PDF files
that encourage and ask for assistance in allowing ham radio activity from
KP1 Navassa and KP5 Desecheo. It has been 10 years since the last
operations from those two entities. NA5U is enlisting our assistance in
both educating and requesting action from our state representatives. Mike
has sent, for our information, a letter explaining the details of past and
recent actions by the amateur community to gain access to KP1 and KP5 for
amateur activity. See the PDF file under the "A Plea From NA5U" button on
the web site. Pay particular attention to his bullet points on page 2 when
you sit down to write your representatives. Jim Inhofe is Chairman of the
committee that has the Senate subcommittee so Mike encourages us to write
him in particular. His address is on the PDF file under the "To Whom
Should I Write" button.

I assured Mike, OKDXA members would be contacted and encouraged to take
action by writing our representatives. Some of you are pros at "rattling
cages" others of us will have to study Mike's "What Should I Write"
suggestion and put together a letter that emphasizes some of the key
argument points for activity from KP1 and KP5. Whether or not you need KP1
and KP5 you are encouraged to take the time to help getting these entities
on the air by contacting your representatives.

If you have trouble gaining access to the PDF files on the web site send me
an email and I'll attach and send copies to you.
