Hi All,
Here are some notes from an e-mail I received today from OKDXA member, David, YI9QWO.
"coy, i worked 40m to the usa this am. i tx on 7090 and rx on 7175. could you pass the info onto the okdxa tonight. as far as rare dx goes.......its all rare to me, hi hi..i did manage a ZS1OLI. i plan to start around 0100z to try the usa. i am alos gonna work the arrl 10m contest this weekend. 15m is usually open around 1300z to 1500z to the usa."
"i am using the cushcraft R8 vertical(27ft) mounted about 2 ft above my container. most of the sigs i recieved were 41-51. my noise level was zero, very quiet on 7175....the usa dx was even below the noise threshold, i could barely hear them. the best RST i gave out this morning was a 52 very clear.........i have about 20 extra foot on my coax, rg-213, i know its not enough to make a 0.1db difference but every little bit will help.....also my station is not grounded-im on 220v 50Hz."
