James:
A few more cents worth of input on bureau systems. Not knowing how
familiar you may be with the outgoing and incoming bureau system here in
the states here are 2 URLs you can visit.

and of course you probably have the one sponsored by the club.

Lot's of info on all those pages. We receive quite a few cards from South
America in small bundles sent by individual operators and then others sent
in "medium" size bundles from the actual bureaus. Like all foreign bureaus
it does take a good deal of time to see results from contacts. First the
operators have to take time to do their cards then the cards have to travel
through the system. Others in the OKDXA can confirm for you "It takes
considerable time" to stack up the cards. The best way to do it when
you're getting started is to be on the air and work everything you
hear. This Saturday and Sunday is the CQ WW SSB contest. You can pick up
a bunch of countries in that one.
