Well the second OKQP of the modern era is in the books and again it proved to
be interesting. Low bands were noisy, which is a product of this time of yr I
guess, and the high bands were dead. But at least no solar flare this yr. Nor
rain for that matter.
Came 3 Q's short of 50k with 345 Q's and 48 sections. My recently repaired
contest amp held up well while my workhorse antenna continued to be the
ladder line fed 80m loop.
Don't know how many of you worked K4MUT/m. He first called me in MD, then
from NJ, DE, PA,NJ, NY,CT, and finally RI. I needed RI and asked him to go
there. Don't know if it was on his itinerary but he went and gave me my only
Q from RI. Most interesting contest. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and
enjoyed better success than Nelson and his "Weeny Wire" Wonder if in
desperation he will next try and load one of his neighbors chickens. Might
make for an interesting cw sounder.
Sure was an interesting contest. Am thinking propagation probably won't be
much better for the next few yrs. So 20 & 40 will be the workhorse bands.
