For those of you looking forward to a higher score in the QSO Party than
AC5UP this year, there's a good chance you'll get your wish... The Wonder
Wire doesn't do 15 and 10 was dead most of the day, so that left 20 as the
primary choice. I didn't exactly get my coax in gear until around 11am on
Saturday as the band sounded pretty flat early in the morning, but I did
manage a pretty good run around noontime. Weird propagation, damn near all
of it single hop East and West coast with only one DX station from Hungary.
(that's in Yurop, Mark) plus a few Canadians (in Canada). Haven't heard
K5YAA yet (and that's weird, compared to last year) but did work K5PX just a
little way down the road.

Went for a long spell of talking to myself and decided to do some yard
work... You'll be pleased to know the lawn looks good as all the Chickweed
and Henbit got mowed. The lawn mower started on the first pull and I highly
recommend the 2-Stroke Lawn Boy mowers as the DX'ers Choice...

Anyway... Came back on 20 around 8pm and couldn't get much of a run going,
but did work Alaska and Utah for two of the more difficult multipliers. Then
I hear a very watery signal come up as UN7JX giving me a 5/3, 5/4 signal
report... Hey, it's Nick in Kazakhstan! (don't even try, Mark, you'll hurt
your brain) Here's the dd:

So... With 36 Q's in the log at 8:40 pm it's gonna take a miracle to pull
this one out and I can feel the Frog Breath on the back of my neck again
this year... I'm tuning around 40 and it sounds beyond hopeless. Wonder if
there's anything good on TV tonight? Heck, when the scores come out I fully
expect to be looking up to N5UW, and won't that be a switch! (sometimes I
just can't help myself...)
