[OKDXA] Green Country

Hi Dave,

Don't be too disheartened. Hamfests seldom last much beyond 2 or 3
pm. Most of the deals on "good stuff" are struck before noon and folks
tend to start thinning out around 1 pm or so. Dealers who've driven any
significant distance are ready to go by early afternoon, so that they can
get home, get some sleep, and have at least one day off. Hams who've driven
any distance also want to get home and try out whatever treasures they've
scored.

I thought that this hamfest was exceptionally well attended. While I was
involved with the Boulder Amateur Radio Club's BARCFest and the Longmont
Amateur Radio Club's LARCFest we would have been delighted with the turnout
I saw at the Green Country 'fest. I was there with my Dad, W5JHJ. He's 80
and still recovering from a mild stroke he had last August, which followed
a quintuple bypass last April. He's no spring chicken, so we didn't stay
long. I sorry I missed the OKDXA meeting and missed seeing anyone in OKDXA;
I was looking forward to an eyeball QSO. But, I hope to remedy that at the
Ham Holiday in late July.

73,

Kim Elmore, N5OP
