Might want to turn it down a bit before you go live!

Subject: [OKDXA] 60-Meter Band on Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark-V

I have the Mark-V working into a dummy load at 200 watts on the five
60-Meter channels. When I tested it before I had the antenna tuner in line
and that caused the power difference. By turning the power on with the FAST
& LOCK buttons pressed and then entering the menu options the normal way,
FAST & ENT, menu options 9-0 through 9-9 opened. Menu 9-9 is where you
change the option from USA to Gen. It is the last option when you tune the
VFO to the right. Then the radio will transceive at any frequency. I
already have some schedules lined up. I don't think this will work well as
a DX band as we are limited to the five channels. But if we behave
ourselves we might be allocated a 150 KC band at a later date. Looking
forward to hearing some of you on the new band.
