160 must have been in pretty good shape because I could get runs going
and I don't have the linears "wired" in yet on my new SO2R console. Heard
several europeans and the CT3. Quite a pileup on the CT3 so didn't toss
my low power signal in there. There are some real mean sounding signals
on 160. Beefy comes to mind. Some of those low band guys have serious
setups. Signals that kind of rumble like road construction equipment. Big
wires to receive on. All kinds of "specialized" tools. It's a fun band
especially when you remember you're just above the AM broadcast dial.

Had to "twist" one leg of my 160 vee back together and hoist it back up.
An old tree got tired and fell on it last summer. I figured to hand out a few
contacts to "locals" so they would know the bureau manager is alive but,
after a while found myself trying to fill in the lower 48 states. Short MT, WY
and ME so will be back in tonight to see if I can find those 3. Worked a
handful of OK stations including W5TM twice. On the second one tossed
my call in before I realized who it was. K5KA headed that way after a
visit with me yesterday. I'm sure he got there in time to see the how Ed
has his acreage planted this year.

Coy - I'm using the new setup so was practicing some knob spinning.
Maybe we'll hook up this evening.

Also, the Log Book of the World sounds like it is getting off the ground.
That's a good deal. I know they have worked hard on it.
