I predict this unit will sell for more than $500.

You can buy a mid-level DVD player new in the box for $130 that will do
audio / video and with signal quality approaching 99.99% of what the Carver
is capable of, but the Carver is already pulling almost three times that...
Used... For just the CD player.

Ahhhhhh, but it has a pair of 6DJ8's as cathode-followers in the output
stage, and that makes all the difference.  Right?  Then you remember a CD is
digitized eight ways 'til Sunday in the recording process and you start to
wonder how a pair of tubes can mellow that into a pure analog signal...
Especially when the buyer will likely plug this straight into a power
amplifier with a silicon pre-amp.... Go Figure.
